Utility Hardship Assistance Program Now Available for Eligible Residents

The City is pleased to announce the launch of a Utility Hardship Assistance Program designed to support residents facing financial difficulties. This program provides temporary relief by reducing monthly utility charges for qualifying households.

Program Benefits

Eligible participants will receive a 50% reduction in their city utility charges for a period of three months. Assistance may be extended for an additional three months, but may not exceed six months in any 36-month period.

Who Qualifies?

To be eligible for the program, applicants must be the named account holder with an account in good standing and meet the following criteria:

  1. Annual household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level, and
  2. Experiencing a qualifying hardship, such as:
    1. Job loss or reduction in income
    2. Medical emergency or ongoing health condition
    3. Natural Disaster
    4. Documented disability
    5. Death, divorce, or separation of immediate household member impacting household income

How to Apply

An Application will soon be available (on this web page) or may be picked up at City Hall during regular business hours. Documentation of income and the qualifying hardship will be required at time of application.
